The Cathedral is open all year round, we recommend planning your visit.

Please note

The Cathedral is normally open every day, but occasionally services or special events mean that access for visitors has to be restricted. If you are coming from a long distance or with a group it is best to check with us first in order to avoid disappointment.


TRAVEL NOTICE: GAS WORKS 7th - 21st APRIL

Essential gas works will take place at the bottom of Holywell Hill/St Stephen’s Hill/Griffiths Way for 2 weeks starting from Monday 7th April.
Visitors are strongly advised to check local traffic news before travelling.

On your way, you will see stunning views of the Cathedral interior, visit the ringing chamber and learn about the magnificent Norman Tower, before climbing out onto the roof to enjoy extensive views in all directions.
